Dear Students and Family,
Teaching is a privilege! This year I will be teaching English and Language Arts for 6th Graders.
I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to be your teacher this year. I have worked in Long Branch School District for Twenty Two years and have had wonderful experiences assisting children grow, dream, explore, imagine and learn. We will do lots more of that this year!!!
I have taught 2nd, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. I have been a Language Arts Facilitator and a Professional Tutor. Years ago, I taught 5th grade in Madrid, Spain. Prior to teaching school, I was a reporter for the Asbury Park Press. I love to write!
I attended Seton Hall University and have a Masters Degree from Monmouth University in Education, and a second Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of New England.
On the personal side, I have been blessed with two beautiful children of my own. I play guitar, write songs, and I've written 2 books and a play. I love to travel and see the world. I have visited Zurich, Switzerland and Barcelona, Spain. I have also visited London, Paris and finally, Ireland, where my grandparents are from. Last summer I hiked the beautiful Muir Woods in San Francisco, California. This summerI visited Nashville, Tennessee because I love Country Music. I bring my experiences back to the classroom to create a "global" learning environment.
I look forward to sharing a beautiful year with you. Feel free to contact me anytime. My link is listed under the "Contact Me" page.
Ms. Alexander
